Banff Western Connection Attendees Raise Over $11,000 for Local YWCA

The tradition of giving continued at the Banff Western Connection 2015 conference, where the REALTORS®, Board and Association staff, and exhibitors in attendance dug deep into their pockets for the 50/50 charity draw. Over $16,000 worth of tickets were sold, meaning this year’s charity of choice, the YWCA of Banff, would receive over $8,000.

In addition, thanks to the auctioning off of a beer pitcher by Olympic gold medallist and speaker Jon Montgomery for $2,500 and the sale of a Hugh MacLeod original art piece for $1,100, the grand total raised for the local YWCA was over $11,000.

The YWCA of Banff‘s shelter program provides access to safe shelter for women experiencing family violence in the local communities, serving an approximate population of 30,000 including the areas of Exshaw, Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise.
