Sutton Office Sponsors Olympic Dreams

Olympic dreams require more than a positive attitude and perseverance, they require significant funds to pay for equipment, clothing, transportation and access to training facilities. As an official sponsor of Special Olympics Ontario, Sutton Group – Quantum Realty Inc. is pleased to help young people achieve their goals. This office held their first charity golf tournament and silent auction on September 24, 2015 raising $3,267 for the Special Olympics.

“Everyone at Sutton Quantum agrees that the work Special Olympics does for children of all ages with special needs is absolutely amazing,” says Jen Luchka, Marketing & Communications Manager. “We’re always looking for ways we can raise money for such an important program.”

Broker of Record Tina Gardin and her team are thrilled to support an organization that has sent ripples of change far beyond improving the lives of individual athletes.

Since the first Special Olympics competition was held in Chicago in 1968, events around the world have shined a light on what people with intellectual disabilities can achieve. As a result, countries have changed their anti-discrimination statutes (Ireland), improved their treatment of those with intellectual disabilities (China) and acknowledged a part of society whose existence was long denied (Russia). Today, there are 4.5 million Special Olympians in 229 programs in 170 countries. For details, visit: www.specialolympics.ca.

Three representatives from Special Olympics were guests at the cheque presentation ceremony, which was held at the new Lakeshore location. Jen recalls: “It was so nice to see their eyes light up when they talked about their favourite sports and when they showed us their medals and trophies.”
