Royal LePage South Country Raises $60,415 for YWCA Harbour House

On November 4, 2014, Royal LePage South Country Real Estate held its 17th Annual Royal Gala Live & Silent Auction in Lethbridge, Alberta, in support of the YWCA Harbour House via the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. This year, the event raised $60,415, which brought their grand total of funds raised over the years from $503,000 to $563,415!

The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation is Canada’s largest public foundation dedicated exclusively to funding women’s shelters and violence prevention programs. Every dollar raised goes directly to helping the more than 30,000 women and children who are served each year by the shelters and support programs they fund.

YWCA Harbour House is one of many programs offered by the YWCA Lethbridge & District, an accredited agency with Imagine Canada. The shelter is a 24-bed crisis unit for women and children who are in abusive relationships. Last year, 652 women and children resided in the YWCA Harbour House. They received 2,709 crisis calls and provided support to 649 women who dropped in for crisis intervention. Outreach continues this work through a variety of activities, including court support, counselling and life skills development.

SAVE THE DATE! Next year’s Royal Gala is already set for Tuesday, November 3, 2015.
