REALTOR®’s Annual Slo-Pitch Tournament Raises Money and Spirits

For two years running now, Rob Stang, REALTOR® with Royal LePage East Kootenay Realty in Cranbrook, British Columbia, has organized a charity slo-pitch tournament to raise money for individuals battling cancer in his community. Rob describes the event as being full of comradery, togetherness, and caring. “It’s about supporting the person who’s in trouble,” he says.

Last year, the inaugural Good Times Charity Slo-Pitch Tournament raised $4,000 for 25-year-old Cody Davies. “Cody said to us last year that it wasn’t just about the money; it was the emotional support, because you just feel down and out,” says Rob.

This year’s event, held on June 3, 2012, was in support of Lynne Haskin, a former REALTOR® who is fighting breast cancer for the second time in 15 years. Seven teams came together for the tournament, raising $3,000 and the spirits of a valued member of their community at a difficult time in her life.
