There was live music, barbecued food and a whole lot of Powell River pride on display at a recent charity tailgate party hosted by Royal LePage Powell River.

It all took place before a Junior A hockey game between the Powell River Kings and the Prince George Spruce Kings in October.

The brokerage’s agents, staff and business partners sold draw tickets and organized the party, which ended up raising a total of $2,750 for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation benefiting the Powell River Transition House, an organization which provides safety to women and children fleeing violence, as well as counselling, helpline support, and community referrals.

Prizes for the draw included round trip airfare to Vancouver, a new paddle board and NHL memorabilia.
