The Vancouver Island Real Estate Board Helps Local REALTOR® Raise the Bar for Kids

Rhonda Heaslip, REALTOR® and winner of multiple National Powerlifting Championships and the current national and Commonwealth powerlifting record holder, is raising money for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Heaslip is putting her strength to good use, by setting a lofty goal of raising $15,000 through her Raise the Bar for Kids campaign. On Friday, June 14, VIREB was able to lighten her load by donating $500 towards the cause.

VIREB Directors Jennifer Merilees and Kathy Koch were on hand to present Heaslip with a cheque at her Brooks Landing RBC Royal Bank appearance. Heaslip recently partnered with RBC Royal Bank in her fundraising efforts, and will be embarking on a series of bank visits to promote awareness of her campaign, while gearing up to break her own Canadian and Commonwealth records at the upcoming Masters Powerlifting Championships in Orlando, Florida.

As a mother of three and grandmother of three, Heaslip is passionate about raising money for health care and children’s charities. While she counts herself lucky that her family is healthy, she recognizes the important work that the BC Children’s Hospital does for families on the Island and across the province.
“I am positive that everyone knows someone who has either been a patient in, or had or knows a child who was a patient in this wonderful life-saving hospital,” explains Heaslip. “I am thrilled to be partnering with our local RBC Royal Bank – they work hard to support the BC Children’s Hospital and we are working together to make a difference. We want to do the heavy lifting, so the kids don’t have to.”
Heaslip would love to see more people get involved with this important cause. Donations will also be accepted in-person at her meet and greets at RBC Royal Bank.
