A Stratford REALTOR® was one of the volunteers recognized at the Ontario Volunteer Service Award ceremony held in Stratford, March 25, 2009. Real Estate Broker, Sam Moore, was among those honoured, congratulations were provided by Perth-Wellington MPP John Wilkinson.
Sam Moore has been delivering meals to the elderly Stratford and area residents for 27 years. A real estate Broker, he recalled first volunteering in response to an appeal for helpers. “I love doing it. It takes about an hour of my time over the noon hour. It’s no big deal”, he said. He likes to take a little time to chat with meal recipients and to leave them with a smile on their face, he said. “I get more out of it than they do”.
