Salvation Army Sleep in the Park Benefits from REALTOR® Ride

Homelessness is an ongoing issue in many communities across Canada and on October 3rd, 2008, Hamilton-Burlington area REALTORS® did their part to help with a charity bike ride to benefit The Salvation Army Sleep in The Park.

Founded in 2006, Sleep In The Park began as a charitable initiative to help raise funds to help put homelessness to a rest. Funds raised benefit the homelessness program, which includes moving and storage, rent/utility bank, Housing Help Program and Emergency Shelter Programs.

On a crisp autumn afternoon, 24 cyclists peddled 20 kilometres around, and in, the Dunnville community. This event was for cyclists of any and all levels who wanted to raise money for a worthwhile cause.

The REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington (RAHB) is proud to announce that they raised $4,800 at the Charity Bike Ride.

“As a REALTORS® association we want to showcase and support the many communities in our area, and let the public know that we work in cities and towns other than Hamilton and Burlington,” said Ann Cosens, President, REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington. “This event was just the beginning of what the REALTORS® Association is working to achieve.”
