Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Association of REALTORS® (SGBAR) raised the roof — and some money — for Habitat for Humanity organizations in Grey-Bruce, South Georgian Bay and North Simcoe.

SGBAR recently presented the cheques worth $7,300 from the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation – Every REALTOR® Campaign to the local non-profit housing organization’s branches. The Every REALTOR® Campaign complements the great philanthropic initiatives by REALTORS® across the province.

“The REALTORS Care® Foundation is the legacy of every REALTOR® in this province,” said Stan Reljic, President of SGBAR. “It belongs to all of us. That’s why the Southern Georgian Bay Association of REALTORS® thinks it’s important to support its great work. Together we can make a difference … and that’s just what our members will continue to do.”

Each SGBAR member contributes monthly through the Every REALTOR® Campaign. The Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation acts on behalf of Ontario REALTORS® in funding shelter-related charities across the province. A shelter is defined as a refuge, haven or protection that provides or improves quality of life from hunger, the elements, physical/psychological abuse, disabilities and illness.

In 2016, the foundation reached the $1 million mark in providing grants to more than 225 shelter-based organizations.

“Donations to the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation make a real difference and can change the lives of those who rely on organizations that offer warmth, comfort and safety”, Reljic said. “It’s one of the many ways our local REALTORS® give back to the communities where they live, work and play.”

SGBAR represents more than 500 REALTORS® in the towns of Midland and Penetanguishene, the townships of Severn, Tay, Tiny and part of Georgian Bay Township, Wasaga Beach, Clearview Township, Collingwood, the Blue Mountains and portions of Meaford and Grey Highlands.
