Balancing full-time studies and paying for it just got a little easier for two University of Regina students, thanks to local REALTORS®.
Kristen Gray and Ben Sackville (pictured with ARR Chief Executive Officer Gord Archibald) are the latest recipients of the $1,000 Association of Regina REALTORS® Inc. Scholarship.
After completing her Bachelor of Science Honours in Biology, Kristen plans to pursue her Master’s and — to the delight of her relatives who farm — a career in agricultural research. Ben is close to realizing his dream of becoming a high school drama teacher, graduating with a Bachelor of Education in Arts Education, minor in Secondary Literature, next spring. This is the second time he has won the scholarship.
“Regina REALTORS® have proudly championed youth and education in our community for decades,” says ARR CEO, Gord Archibald. “It will be exciting to see the impact Kristen and Ben make in the years to come, and we believe in giving them a vote of confidence.”
The ARR has awarded two scholarships every year since 1977. The University of Regina selects the recipients based on academic standing and ability in such areas as leadership, athletics and fine arts.
Regina REALTORS® are also longtime supporters of the North Central Family Centre and its Youth Empowerment Program and, in 2012, the ARR introduced the annual REALTORS® Citizenship Award recognizing dozens of grade 8 students who demonstrate commitment to their school and community.
