Saskatchewan REALTORS® Launch Legacy Fund

The Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS® (ASR) is proud to announce a new Quality of Life Legacy Initiative. A total of $130,000 from the Association has been placed under the professional fund management of the Saskatoon Community Foundation. From that $130,000 total amount, $100,000 will be used to establish a long-term endowment fund, and $30,000 will be used in 2013 to provide a grant of $5,000 to eligible charities in each of six different regions across the province.

A special cheque presentation was recently made by ASR Board Member Joanne Kerr and members of her ASR Quality of Life Committee to Kristy Rempel, Donor Services Manager of the Saskatoon Community Foundation.

The Foundation will work with Saskatchewan REALTORS® to manage the new Quality of Life Legacy and assist with the annual delivery of a new community granting process. Eligible charities are encouraged to apply to the Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS®, so long as their proposals meet the five ASR Quality of Life Principles:

  • Economic vitality
  • Providing housing opportunities
  • Preserving the environment
  • Protecting property owners
  • Building better communities

This initiative demonstrates the commitment of the Saskatchewan real estate industry to improving Quality of Life throughout the province. A comprehensive 2012 Update Report on the Impact of REALTOR® Corporate Social Responsibility in Saskatchewan is also available upon request.
