The situation in Fort Mac has touched everyone across the country in one way or another. The people of what has often been referred to as Newfoundland and Labrador’s second largest city have had their lives turned upside down by this tragedy. True to form, the NL Association of REALTORS® (NLAR) and its members wanted to reach out and help in many ways.
NLAR’s social committee took on the task of planning a Fort McMurray fundraiser to accompany their annual Recognition & Awards Night. The event was held on June 9, 2016, at Glendenning Golf course in St. John’s. The fundraiser was a tremendous success. In total, the silent and live auctions raised approximately $10,000 in aid of the Fort McMurray Relief Fund.
