Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services held the fundraisier in Burlington, Ontario, on October 25th to raise money for Halton Women’s Place and the Carpenter Hospice.  The Charity Halloween Chili Bowl is the major fall fundraising event of Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services’ annual fundraising campaign.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the turnout,” said JoAnn Landry, President and Broker/Owner of Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services. “Not only did we have our largest number of participants and sponsors ever, we also raised a record amount of money in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, which will directly benefit our community.”

More than $6,200 was raised at the event thanks to the 140 people who attended, including Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services’ sales representatives, administrative employees, and community sponsors. Many of the participants dressed up in Halloween costumes with prizes being awarded for best team theme, best individual costume, best bowling technique and worst bowling technique. “Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services is deeply committed to helping the community in a variety of ways. The company’s unique team spirit makes raising funds a very pleasurable experience for everyone involved,” said Rebecca Ryder, Vice-President and Broker of Record.

Landry said she wanted to specifically thank the organizing committee, made up of Brenda Macdonald, Angie Mackie, Marion Benson, Krisztina Bencsics and Lauren Brannen, for all their time and effort in making this event a huge success.

“I’m very grateful to the event organizers and to everyone who took part,” said Shanan Spencer-Brown, Executive Director of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. “Domestic violence is far too prevalent in our communities. The agents and staff at Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services understand that a house is only a home if the people who live there feel safe, loved and accepted. That’s why they are so dedicated to supporting our cause. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from this event benefits local shelters.”

Over the past 14 years, Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services has raised more than $300,000 in support of Halton Women’s Place and the Carpenter Hospice. They contribute to the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation by organizing and holding fundraising events throughout the year.
