Dena Sicard, Jane Thuet and Sue Driver didn’t have to go it alone at their recent euchre tournament fundraiser.

The trio from Royal LePage Frank Real Estate in Whitby, Ontario, continued their fundraising journey in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, raising another $3,300 towards their participation in the Iceland Challenge for Shelter.

To participate in the Iceland Challenge for Shelter, taking place in July, each trekker must raise at least $5,000 for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. Sicard, Thuet and Driver have trumped their original goal and have set sights on raising $30,000. Funds raised by the group will be directed to The Denise House, Y’s Wish Shelter of YWCA Durham, and national violence prevention programs funded in part by the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.

“We’re so thankful to all who came out to play in the tournament…to the Oshawa Seniors Centre for hosting us, and to our volunteers and manager, Debbi Guislain, as well as to our generous broker/owner Rick Siwek for covering the majority of the expenses,” Sicard said. “We look forward to reaching our goal and helping make it safer for women and their children to walk away from domestic violence.”
